“What happened to the boy who went to sleep with his head under the pillow? The tooth fairy stole all his teeth”
OK, it’s not my best “dad joke” and you may think it’s a bit nasty. Do you now think of me as cheesy and a nasty person? I doubt it. If I told you the joke in person I would probably laugh at it myself – even though I’ve told it many times.
Why wouldn’t I say it? Why would I suppress my desire for humour? Well … I wouldn’t. I would let my spirit breath. I would hope you would share a joke in return, after all where do you think I got this joke from – someone else.
This is an example of spirit and spirit is in all the things we do. It is in our actions, it’s in our beliefs, it’s in the way we think which now makes spirit an essential part of how we approach our health.
For spirt to fully express itself it needs health. If you would like to help a friend you need health. If you would like to support your child playing sport or attend their show or prize giving, you need health. If stress is suffocating your spirit you need health to do that bush hike, walk on the beach, plant new flowers in your garden, meet a friend for coffee, … okay I’m sure you get the idea.
It may be easier to sense the health and spirit connection when you are in poor health. Poor health often leads to the realisation that your spirit (eg. sense of humour) is less-than and you want to recover your health to return you back to spirit.
The healthy man has many goals. The sick man has just one.
Hi, I’m Matt,
Thanks for taking the time to read my musings and blog.
My hope is you will ponder the message and apply your thoughts to your health and wellbeing. You may change something, add something, or feel your on the right track already – that’s great.
The musings are a combination of my own education (up to Masters level), podcasts, inspirational books, and the many lessons my clients have taught me over the last 25 years. It is a privilege to help clients with their health and wellbeing and these musings are simply an extension of that.
I hope they act as a source to help you.
